Jessica & Brian Wedding {Vista at Walnut Hill} - Charlotte Wedding Photographer

Finding love isn't always easy.  Sometimes, it takes a lot longer than we think it should to find.  Then, sometimes, a story like this happpens.  Brian and Jessica were high school sweethearts, then they went their separate ways.  Life happened, then, a simple Facebook post happened...

After that, as Brian started keeping track of the coordinates of their special dates, they started forging a life with each other, and with their kids.  Their wedding day was simply a new chapter starting in a wonderful, lovely story.  Their wedding had Up-inspired items, Superheros, and was just so very, THEM.  Enjoy!

Jessica's Dairy Barn Bridals {Charlotte Bridal Photographer}

Jessica is that girl that I swear could make a friend out of anybody.  Always described as bubbly, giggly, and fiercely loyal.  She also got married this past Saturday!  It was so gorgeous, and the weather was so perfect, such a blessing for her and her new husband, Brian.  Those images will come in time, but for now, I am honored to be able to showcase just a few of the many incredibly beautiful bridal portraits I captured of her.  Enjoy!

The Solberg Family

These guys... Goodness...  I don't even know where to start.  I met Christen in, I think either middle school or high school, I honestly cannot recall anymore!  A fellow ginger and a wonderful lady, we maintained a friendship over the years, and I was honored when she asked me to photograph her wedding to Nels, an amazing man she'd met through work.  Between the two of them, they made one gorgeous little girl, and I considered it an even higher honor that she asked me to chronicle her first year in the world!

Babyportraits

I was so clear from the moment I came over when she was 2 weeks old that Amelia already had them both wrapped around her tiny little fingers.  Daddy moreso, but still, she had completely stolen their hearts.

I was so thrilled that Christen and Nels wanted to do their session in their home, in the intimacy of their lifestyle.  It's such a joy to capture true moments amidst the chaos of real life. The pups were very much on guard watching over Amelia that day, as well.

It's been so fun to watch Amelia grow up as the shoots have gone on!  Just as giggly and happy as her parents!

I think we had a record for only one or two mini-meltdowns for the whole One-year series.  this family just always seems to have it together!

As we reached her one year portrait session, Amelia's curiosity clearly has reached a high point, because she was everywhere!  Instead of making her sit, and keeping her down, we decided to let her roam, and we just had to keep up with her!

I cannot wait to work with this family again, and am so honored to have friends like them to count on and spend time with!

Happy 1 year, Miss Amelia, you crazy fun little frosting monster!!  You will, one day, realize how very much you are loved!

A Look at What's to Come {Atlanta Lifestyle Photographer - Charlotte, NC Weekend}

I am so blessed to be able to go back to Charlotte, North Carolina and not only visit friends and family, but also to have some amazing people to photograph.

This last weekend I made the 4.5 hour drive up from Atlanta with three very important sessions on my mind.

The first one was the final session in a one year newborn to one year portrait package.  Christen, Nels, and their lovely daughter Amelia are so dear to my heart.  Not only has Christen been my friend since high school (maybe middle school, but I don't honestly remember! YIKES!), I was also entrusted by her to photograph her gorgeous wedding a few years ago.  Her husband, Nels, is a silly, hilarious dad, and the two of them are the perfect pair for their extremely curious daughter, Amelia.  I have LOVED watching this little nugget grow up over the past year!  Here is probably my favorite image from the session.  What a little frosting monster!!

The next session on my schedule was the main reason for the trip in the first place.  My gorgeous best friend Rachel is pregnant with her second little blessing (and first girl!), and we had been planning this session since she first found out she was pregnant!  Rachel, Ryan, and their son Ian all got their own family session for the birth announcement, so Rachel was all to herself with the maternity session.  She is one hot momma and as much as I want to share the more traditional portraits we took, I am sharing this one.  It's a little out of my norm, and I just love it so much!

My last session of the weekend was another past wedding couple!  Lauren & Steven got married about 5 years ago now, and their wedding was so amazingly beautiful, I still remember the whole day.  Well, they had this little guy 3 years ago, and I got to photograph him when he was a baby, but I was so shocked to see how big he had grown!  Jackson is a hilarious little ball of energy and Carolina Panther's pride!  We took a lot of family portraits, but this one is hands down my favorite of Jackson, aside from a few I have of him doing the touchdown dab!

It was such a nice trip up to see old friends and my family, and I cannot wait to go up again!  Keep an eye out this week and next for the full blogs from each of these awesome sessions!

Brian + Jessica {"Up"-inspired Engagments} - UNC Charlotte Botanical Gardens

These two, oh my goodness!  Up fans through and through.  Brian proposed on a mountaintop to Jessica with an adventure book for them to fill, and had a mailbox made with their hand prints (and the  hand prints of their kids!).  When they told me they were keeping the trend going for their engagement portraits and their wedding, I could not have been more excited!  Their love for each other fully shines through in their portraits and I am so looking forward to their Spring wedding!
